The design included an addition and complete revamping of an existing three level structure near a gorge and overlooking Cayuga Lake. A new glass enclosed atrium serves as the focal point of the house where a suspended stainless steel staircase connects the existing main entry level to the new atrium and two new bedroom levels. Generous use of skylights brings light and transparency to all interior spaces. The house was retrofitted with all new mechanical systems including solar panels. A new covered walkway serves as a light filled gallery and connection to the existing garage.
